Gentle rafting at Wilderness Tours is the perfect family experience for families with children ages 7 to early teens. Kids get to paddle, body surf and learn history, geology and geography in nature's classroom.
Rapids are classified 1-6 with 6 being the most dificult. Gentle Rafters challenge rapids 1-3 which is the perfect combination of excitement and teamwork for young paddlers. When they reach their teens, they can tackle the bigger rapids on the High Adventure trip.
There are few things in life that parents can do with kids and both age groups enjoy together and WT's Gentle Raft Trip is one of them! Trips run daily.

Our family rafting programs are perfect for kids ages 7 and up and are available every day of the week!
About 15 years ago Joe’s sister, Jill, and her young family were visiting when Joe decided it was time to take the children rafting. By taking a special route down the Ottawa’s beautiful MIDDLE channel, Joe was able to guide the children safely down the rapids. At the base of Garvins Chute, a spectacular 20’ waterfall, Jill remarked to Joe, "this is the best day our family has spent together." Considering Jill’s husband, Ross, is an airline captain and they have the world as their play-ground, her glowing comments spawned WT’s family programs.      
 
Geared for families with children 7-12, this fun raft trip includes liquid history, geology and biology.
